Toucan with Shading

Even though it was Father's Day today we made time to do a few tangles.  I added shading to the Toucan (see above) and Ashley tried her hand at a Kingfisher.  We also tried out a few colors from my new set of Graphitint pencils by Derwent......such fun!  The softness of the colors we look well with a Zentangle and don't tend to overshadow the design.  Planning on doing more with the Graphitints and will post some photos later in the week.

Have a good week and happy tangling.

A Toucan Zentangle

I love to incorporate flowers and animals in my needlework designs, so I decided to play around with tangling a Toucan!  In an effort to keep it simple, my original drawing was greatly simplified as my tendency is to be to "fussy".  There is no shading in the this first one.....something to try out tomorrow.  But I think it will be fun to draw again....with all new patterns.   Next up, a flamingo or an ostrich?

Happy Father's Day
